Derby Prep Replay: Spiral Stakes

Midnight Hawk, conditioned by Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, is the latest to drop off the #KentuckyDerby trail, joining Constitution and Cairo's Prince who dropped out last week. Baffert made the announcement earlier today. His defection enables Harry's Holiday, trained by Michael Maker, to make his run for the roses with 19 other foes on the first Saturday in May. Harry's Holiday just missed by a nose to Wee Miss Artie in his final prep in the G3 Spiral stakes run over the synthetic surface at Turfway Park and adds more tactical speed in a race loaded with it. The 2014 Kentucky Derby field is almost set, the preps have been completed, and we are one day closer to the most exciting 2 minutes in sport.
