It's a huge graded stakes extravaganza today at
Santa Anita highlighted by the
G2 Arcadia, the G2 Robert B Lewis, and the G2 Strub. There will be many stars, and possibly some future stars, congregating in the famous
Seabiscuit walking ring later today. The Arcadia features
Mr. Commons who will be seeking his second consecutive stakes victory for trainer
John Shirreffs. This son of
Artie Schiller appears to be developing into one of racing's top turf stars and we're definitely looking for a repeat victory today. The Robert B. Lewis will feature 3 year old colts and geldings looking to stamp themselves into the picture for the
2012 G1 Kentucky Derby with a victory today.
Bob Baffert, who will be seeking his 4th derby victory this year, will send out 2 runners today in the Lewis. Liaison, who has won 3 of 4 career starts,
including a victory in his latest start in the G1 CashCall Futurity, has the look of a champion, while
Sky Kingdom, a rapidly improving son of Empire Maker, still has much to prove after an easy allowance victory in his last start. They will both have to hold off hard charging
Rousing Sermon who just missed catching Liaison in the CashCall. The Strub will feature another star coming off of a victory, as
Tapizar looks to repeat for trainer
Steve Asmussen. He will have to contend with 2 runners from the Baffert barn in Prayer for Relief and Jaycito, who will be coming off of a long layoff. Today also features a nice carryover of $65,372 in the Pick 6, as no one had the winning combination last night. We will lay out a free selection for that sequence, as well as the IC selections for this huge Saturday card from the great race place. We have accurately selected 5 out of 6 in the last 2 free Pick 6 selections presented here. Let's see if the 3rd time is the charm for this huge carryover today.
